Selecting Flo King Pump Materials of Construction

Flo King pumps are available in different materials of construction. Selection is based mainly on solution type, pH, and temperature. Improper selection can lead to rapid material breakdown and failure in certain aggressive acid, highly caustic, and/or high-temperature solutions. Price may also be a factor. Some materials cost much more than others.

CPVC (gray in color) is our standard, least-expensive and by far the most popular material of construction for the BX650, BX1200, BX3000, BXL2500 and BXL5000. Polypro (white), preferred for some applications, costs more. For special applications, Kynar (PVDF) and stainless steel are also available but are much more expensive than CPVC and polypro.

For the Lab Series, the standard pump material is polypro (white). Kynar (PVDF), which is very expensive, is the only other option.
