FAQ

WHY IS SOLUTION COMING OUT OF THE UPPER WEEP HOLE OR UNDERNEATH THE MOTOR BASE OF MY PUMP, CLOSE TO THE MOTOR?

• When the pump is used without a filter cartridge or other device attached to the intake or Discharge Port, it is providing maximum flow rate. In these cases, depending on the solution viscosity and other factors, some liquid may be diverted up the pump body. Use a filter cartridge or Strainer on the pump intake to reduce the flow as necessary.

• Another possibility is that the Super Slinger inside the pump body is improperly seated, distorted or has deteriorated over time. The purpose of the Super Slinger is to keep solution flowing out the pump Discharge Port instead of up the pump body.

• Narrow pipes installed on the pump Discharge Port can cause a reduction of flow rate, backpressure on the pump, and solution running up the shaft and out the Weep Hole. Use a larger-diameter pipe or fitting as necessary to allow all solution to freely and completely exit from the Discharge Port without restriction.

• Note that the BX3000, BX5000, BXL2500 and BXL5000 models have both upper and lower weep holes. The BX650 and BX1200 have only a lower weep hole.
